U.S. Changes Asylum Detainee Rules

The Obama Administration announced Wednesday it will stop detaining asylum seekers while their cases are processed if they are found to have credible fear for their safety.

The Obama Administration announced Wednesday it will stop detaining asylum seekers while their cases are processed if they are found to have credible fear for their safety.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Assistant Secretary John Morton said the new rules are part of a previously announced plan to focus on criminal immigrants.
