Gang Interrupted: Injunction Quells Violence

Declaring success with San Francisco’s first-ever use of a civil injunction targeting gang activity, the city attorney’s office plans to expand the tactic to other neighborhoods. Police initially voiced skepticism, given the mixed track record of civil injunctions in Los Angeles and elsewhere, but they say they now are ready to help City Attorney Dennis Herrera expand his four-month-old program.
