Migratory Meddlers

Imagine a goose, flying across Illinois on its way to Canada for the summer. It's almost nightfall, and the goose could use a place to get a drink and maybe spend the evening. It glances down, notices a small wet spot and decides to look it over. One of two things will happen. Either it will decide to land and check in for the night, or it might just glance off the surface and decide to look elsewhere.
