Kona Kai guests' credit cards may have been hacked

Through an internal investigation, Noble House learned that malware may have been installed on payment processing systems that potentially affected cards swiped at 11 of its hotels, restaurants, and bars, including the Kona Kai.

Guests who stayed at the Kona Kai Resort on Shelter Island between April 25 and Aug. 3 may have had their credit and debit card information compromised, according its owner, Noble House & Resorts.

The hotelier was notified by the U.S. Secret Service about possible fraudulent activity on the payment card system at one of its properties, Ocean Key Resort & Spa in Key West, Fla.
