Despite recent success at the U.S. Supreme Court, numerous challenges to lesbian,
gay, bisexual and transgender equality exist. Among the remaining frontiers for full
LGBT equality is equal representation in the state and federal judiciary. Currently,
the judicial institutions relied upon to ensure equality in California are themselves
unequal and un-inclusive of LGBT Americans.
