Drug Wars

On Nov. 29 Jennie Stern suffered a hemorrhagic stroke - a blood vessel burst in her brain - that caused permanent damage. She lost all peripheral vision, forever to see the world in tunnel vision. She will never be able to drive a car. Her limited vision makes walking difficult, as does the partial numbness that has remained on the right side of her body. Stern needed a walker at first, and now uses a cane. She has trouble finding the right words to describe things.
