We Should Not Use Courts To Silence Political Dissent

Every day, the words of the First Amendment are turned into reality through the hundreds of demonstrations, pickets and organizing efforts by Americans seeking, through peaceful means, to alter the political landscape of our country. As lawyers, sworn to uphold the Constitution, we have no greater responsibility than to safeguard the fundamental rights of the First Amendment so that these voices of democracy can be heard, as intended by the Constitution's Framers.
