Studios Say RealNetworks Can't Argue Fair Use in DVD Case

An attorney for Hollywood studios battling the Seattle-based company RealNetworks in federal court over a controversial DVD copier argued Thursday the company should be barred from arguing fair use.

SAN FRANCISCO - Taking a page from RealNetworks Inc.'s playbook, an attorney for the Hollywood studios battling the Seattle-based company in federal court over a controversial DVD copier argued Thursday that the company should be barred from using a fair use argument to defend its product.
