Circuit Upholds Patent Venue Ruling

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ruled that Oxford Gene Technology Ltd.'s contacts in California involving the patent in question were insufficient.

SAN JOSE - A Carlsbad biotechnology company lost its bid to get a British competitor's patent declared invalid and unenforceable Monday when a federal appellate court agreed with a Los Angeles judge's conclusion that the court had no jurisdiction in the case.
