State Court Deletes Spam E-mail Lawsuit

As irksome, dubious - even downright unreadable - as spam advertising e-mail messages might be, they are not fraudulent, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled this week.

LOS ANGELES - "Who is the best American Idol judge: Randy Jackson, Simon Cowell or Paula Abdul?"

That's just one of 45,000 electronic spam mail messages that spurred a $45 million lawsuit against the online marketer ValueClick, because its subject lines and sender addresses lured readers to view unwanted advertising.
