Trial to begin for man charged with selling DuPont secrets to China

Prosecutors contend Walter Liew made $29 million by sharing the proprietary documents, flow charts and other information relating to the manufacturing of a valuable pigment with Chinese government-owned companies.

SAN FRANCISCO - In one of the Northern District's biggest white collar cases to go to trial since U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag took office here in 2009, lawyers are set to begin picking jurors Monday to hear evidence against a man charged with stealing trade secrets relating to a valuable pigment from American industrial titan DuPont.
