For each of the six years prior to 2013, corporate counsel's top goal was to control legal costs. The seven-year itch struck in 2013 - cost control dropped to number two and was replaced by delivering value. A survey, based on more than 300 one-on-one interviews with corporate counsel, reveals the number of corporate counsel who see delivering value as their top goal soared to 31.8 percent in 2013 from 18.7 percent in 2012.
