Gov. Jerry Brown on Friday announced the appointment of 20 new superior court judges to 13 courts in California. Among them, Paul C. Lo, a private practitioner appointed to the Merced bench, is claimed as the first Hmong-American judge appointed in the U.S, according to Asian Americans Advancing Justice.
