Free Speech Doesn't Protect Master's Thesis

SAN FRANCISCO - Free speech does not give a graduate student the right to a passing grade on a master's thesis that is academically acceptable but includes caustic "disacknowledgements" critical of the graduate school and its dean, a splintered federal appeals panel ruled Monday.
