Panel Stays Contempt Order, Jail Sentence
LOS ANGELES - A state appeals court has stayed a contempt order that calls for a Beverly Hills attorney to spend five days in jail. In an order issued Tuesday, the 2nd District Court of Appeal temporarily stayed Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Bruce Mitchell's contempt order against attorney Richard I. Fine, saying that the court needed time to consider a petition for writ of habeas corpus filed by Fine on Tuesday.
