L.A. Superior Court Subverts Intent of Labor Measure

One of the main purposes of the recently passed Trial Court Employment Protection and Governance Act, SB2140, is to provide civil service-type protections for certain trial court employees. It applies to "regular" nonmanagement personnel currently not protected under a union negotiated "memorandum of understanding." The intent of the bill is to protect long-term nonmanagement employees.
