9th Circuit dismisses DNA case as moot

The 9th Circuit announced Monday that it has dismissed an appeal set for en banc oral argument Tuesday over mandatory DNA collection from arrestees.

The 9th Circuit announced Monday that it has dismissed an appeal set for en banc oral argument Tuesday over mandatory DNA collection from arrestees.

The matter became moot when the defendant involved in the appeal, Jerry Pool, pleaded guilty to an underlying sex offense, altering his arrestee status and undermining the reason for his appeal.
