Chipmaker hit with $105 million verdict in patent trial

San Jose-based electronic component manufacturer Fairchild Semiconductor lost a patent infringement case brought by competitor Power Integrations Inc.

San Jose-based electronic component and chip manufacturer Fairchild Semiconductor Inc. was hit Tuesday with a $105 million jury verdict in a patent infringement case brought by competitor Power Integrations Inc.


A San Francisco jury found that Fairchild willfully infringed on two Power Integrations patents and denied Fairchild's counterclaim on another patent.
