In an interesting twist reflecting a sign of the times, both Army and Marine Corps top brass testified earlier this month before the Senate Armed Services Committee that women, like men, should be required at age 18 to register for the Selective Service.
This was likely a natural off shoot of Defense Secretary Ash Carter's Dec. 3, 2015, decision to open up all military positions to women - including, finally, those of front-line combat roles.
