Defense attorneys criticize Supreme Court ruling on warrantless searches

The nation's highest court's latest decision drew sharp rebuke from California criminal defense attorneys and privacy advocates.

The U.S. Supreme Court's latest ruling on warrantless searches drew sharp rebuke from California criminal defense attorneys and privacy advocates.


The decision "further erodes the privacy we expect in homes," said Scott Sugarman, president of California Attorneys for Criminal Justice, the association made up of criminal defense lawyers, and a partner at Sugarman & Cannon.
