Groups Want Land for Parks, Kids

The 47-acre Chinatown Cornfields rail yard is the largest open space adjacent to downtown Los Angeles, and dozens of civic organizations claim an interest in how it gets developed. Seven of those groups filed suit Wednesday challenging the city's approval for an industrial use plan by a Staples Center developer that would pave over 32 of those acres for warehouses and parking lots.
