Hotel owners ink $1.5 million settlement in suit brought by tenants

A lawsuit brought by tenants of the low-income residential Huntington Hotel claimed the owners improperly increased the rent and evicted tenants, many of whom are elderly and disabled.

LOS ANGELES - The owners of downtown Los Angeles' historic Huntington Hotel will pay $1.5 million to settle a lawsuit claiming that the hotel unjustly increased rent and tried to push out residents who are elderly, disabled or both.
