Federal officials to oversee polls in California counties

Monitors will be on the lookout at polling locations in Alameda, Fresno and Riverside counties - which all boast sizable minority populations - to ensure they accommodate non-English-speaking voters.

With today's statewide primary election underway, federal government officials are observing polling locations in three California counties to ensure they comply with federal antidiscrimination laws.
