Specter of criminal investigation hangs over Uber driverless car tech case

Uber Technologies Inc. was hoping to narrow the public scope of its trade secret litigation but instead faces the specter of a new front in the battle after U.S. District Judge William Alsup referred the case to federal prosecutors late last week for possible criminal prosecution.
