Appellate court again limits lawyers' ability to avoid fiduciary duty suits
The 5th District Court of Appeal, in keeping with an emerging trend among California appellate courts, ruled Wednesday that lawyers can't avoid lawsuits for breaching fiduciary duties to their firms on the basis of the anti-SLAPP statute, meant to protect against lawsuits that chill speech.
