Outgoing Dean Revitalized Hastings

SAN FRANCISCO - When Mary Kay Kane took over Hastings College of the Law 13 years ago, California's largest and oldest law school was in disarray, emerging from a series of scandals involving misappropriation of funds and shady real estate deals. Additionally, tenants living in Hastings-owned hotels in the surrounding Tenderloin neighborhood were suing the school for being a "terrible" landlord.
