Detained Immigrants Are Scattered

A report says immigration officials are increasingly transferring foreign nationals from urban areas to remote areas where legal help is scarce.

The number of immigrants detained by officials has more than doubled over the past decade, resulting in mass transfers of foreign nationals, often from urban areas to remote areas where legal help is scarce, according to new report.

The study by the Syracuse-based Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse concluded the spike in transfers is a result of federal policies.
