Patent litigation reform stalls - for now - in Senate

The Senate Judiciary Committee has once again delayed action on a bill aimed at reducing frivolous patent infringement lawsuits, but Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., expressed optimism that a compromise would be reached.

The Senate Judiciary Committee has once again delayed action on a bill aimed at reducing frivolous patent infringement lawsuits, but Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., expressed optimism that a compromise would be reached.


The committee chairman said in a statement that legislators had reached "a broad bipartisan agreement in principle" and were hashing out details of the provisions.
