Alston lauds 'women of distinction'

Alston & Bird LLP recently presented its 10th annual Women of Distinction award to Lisa Harrington, associate general counsel for NBCUniversal Inc.'s digital division, and Ann McElaney-Johnson, the president of Mount St. Mary's College, an L.A.-based college primarily for women. The award honors female leaders who have furthered the values of inclusion and equality for women in their communities. The women received the honors at Alston & Bird's Los Angeles office on March 25. Harrington, who serves as legal and business affairs counsel for NBCUniversal's digital and e-commerce properties, including Fandango, Movies.com, and NBCU Digital Entertainment, has helped promote a healthy work-life balance for her nine-member legal team by supporting flexible work schedules, according to the firm. McElaney-Johnson, a strong advocate of the importance of women's colleges, has dedicated herself to providing a superior education to Mount St. Mary's student body by emphasizing leadership skills and fostering a spirit of service. — Jean Yung
