Attorney Sues for Defamation

A lawyer who was removed from a Wal-Mart class action case three years ago has asked a three-judge panel to reinstate her defamation claim against her former law firm.

SAN FRANCISCO - When well-known plaintiffs' attorney Fred Furth sent a firm-wide e-mail brusquely removing Carolyn Beasley Burton from a massive Wal-Mart class action case three years ago, he considered it a routine litigation update.
