L.A. Firm Must Pay $2.5 Million to Settle Malpractice Claim

If approved by a San Jose bankruptcy judge, Levene, Neale, Bender, Rankin & Brill would settle a complaint for breach of fiduciary duty and legal malpractice for its handling of SonicBlue Inc.'s bankruptcy.

SAN JOSE - A Los Angeles-based law firm must pay $2.5 million and agree not to seek unpaid attorney fees to settle a complaint filed by the trustee representing creditors of bankrupt electronics company SonicBlue Inc.
