Seismic Revolution Under Way at L.A. Live

By KEELEY WEBSTER CREJ Staff Writer As the number of high-rise residential projects in West Coast cities has exploded, architects and engineers have been looking at methods of designing buildings that allow for more flexibility while improving a building's ability to withstand earthquakes.

UPDATE: In the Oct. 27 edition of the California Real Estate Journal, in the article ?Seismic Revolution Under Way at L.A. Live,? comments from Warwick Wicksman of Gensler should have stated the amount of column space gained by using performance-based design techniques rather than traditional concrete sheer walls is two feet by 40 feet.
