Qualcomm, Cell Phone Makers Catch Break in Patent Dispute

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit vacated an exclusion order barring the importation of wireless devices containing Qualcomm Inc. battery-saving technology that infringed a Broadcom patent.

SAN JOSE - San Diego-based Qualcomm Inc. got a bit of good news Tuesday in what has been a grim struggle against allegations that its semiconductor chips and software infringed a Broadcom Corp.'s patent.
