'Harper' Is Anything but Demeaning to Gays
Letters to the Editor - In their article "'Harper' Protects Gay Sensitivities, Not Free Speech" (April 28 Daily Journal), Robert D. Richards and Clay Calvert write that the majority's opinion is demeaning to gay and lesbian students because it suggests "they are too weak, too insecure and too fragile to withstand a message printed on a T-shirt that objects to their sexual orientation," and that it "almost plays to the worst and most inaccurate stereotypes of gay males as soft and wimpy."
