Court Restrains Public Workers' Speech Rights

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Supreme Court dealt a blow Tuesday to the free speech rights of public employees seeking to report on government wrongdoing, ruling against a whistle-blowing prosecutor in Los Angeles County who alleged that his superiors retaliated against him for reporting suspicions of police misconduct.
