Parks Backs Down, Will Cooperate With DA

Following an extraordinary public standoff between Los Angeles Police Chief Bernard Parks and District Attorney Gil Garcetti over the worst corruption scandal in city history, Parks seemingly blinked late Wednesday, saying at a news conference that he had never refused to cooperate with the DA in the Rampart investigation - despite reports that Parks unilaterally ordered his detectives to deny county prosecutors access to information to support the Rampart investigation.
