Condemned Are Told to Keep Their Cool - Even on Their Way to Execution

On his way to San Quentin's death house early Wednesday morning, serial killer Darrell Rich wanted to make a detour to the sweat house. He didn't get to make the side trip to steam clean his soul in an ancient American Indian religious service. But in the days and hours before his execution, quadruple-killer Rich and his lawyers pursued all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court the question of whether Rich should be permitted to attend a sweat lodge ceremony.
