Court Hears Arguments on Fees for Lawyers in Y2K Suit
SAN JOSE - The much-feared Y2K computer bug may seem a distant memory, but attorneys still are arguing over litigation about it. Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge William Martin heard arguments Tuesday that attorneys who filed a class action against Intuit Inc. are entitled to more than $700,000 in fees because their complaint prompted the company to announce free upgrades to Quicken software three days later. He did not make a ruling.
