Cold War-style treachery is trying to make a comeback in Los Angeles, the city of dreams built on betrayal as an art form. In a breach of fiduciary duty lawsuit that contains a bracing and nostalgic whiff of eau de Iron Curtain, a leading celebrity protection and "threat assessment" firm has accused a former top executive of skullduggery and defection. The charges include allegations that the executive masked his godless desertion behind the cloak of religion.
