Crackdown on Kickbacks, Real or Not, Puts Hospitals on Alert

A $2.4 million settlement paid by a Central Valley hospital group on Monday was a warning to medical providers in California that scrutiny of kickback schemes - even in cases that fall short of criminal fraud - is likely to intensify with national health reform.
