Forgery Queried Employers On Their Workers' Legal Status

Federal officials are investigating who is behind a letter sent to Los Angeles area employers instructing them to check their employees' immigration status.

Federal officials are investigating who is behind a bogus letter sent to Los Angeles-area employers instructing them to check their employees' immigration status.

The July 12 missive includes the forged signature of John W. Salter, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's top lawyer in Los Angeles.
