At its Oct. 23 public hearing, the Commission for the Revision of the Rules of Professional Conduct of the California State Bar voted to recommend to the Board of Trustees immediate adoption of the standard for the responsibilities of prosecutors expressed in Rule 3.8 of the American Bar Association's Model Rules of Professional Conduct. California remains the only state in which some form of this rule has not been adopted.
