As we enter the start of the 21st century, batteries are being considered as an alternative to fossil fuels. While batteries are certainly a clean technology, there are aspects to batteries that both reduce utility and raise concerns - not the least of which is a new diagnosis for psychologists using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders - DSM-IV.
