Some law school graduates battle the odds and come out on top

Law schools are under fire for their students' employment rates nine months after graduation, but some people who struggle in that early time period eventually land jobs they love.

SANTA ANA - For more than a year after Philip D. Batchelder received his law degree in 2009, he could not find a job as a lawyer. He spent his time networking and volunteering a few hours a month at a courthouse clinic before he finally landed some contract work and some shared office space.
