The Environmental Law Foundation sued the makers of baby foods and certain packaged fruits Wednesday alleging they contain unsafe levels of lead.
Several brands of baby food containing carrots, pears and sweet potatoes as well as other packaged fruit contain enough of the potent neurotoxin to require a warning label under the state's toxics law Proposition 65, according to the suit, filed in Alameda County Superior Court.
