East Bay Law School, an unaccredited school in Oakland that came under scrutiny late last year and was shut down until it can prove it is compliant with State Bar guidelines, continues to face obstacles on the road to re-opening.

Judge Wynne Carvill ruled in Alameda County Superior Court this week that East must pay damages to its landlord, Howard Properties, in the amount of $53,016....
