As multi-state plaintiffs' asbestos firms continue to target peripheral defendants whose products, for example, incorporated minor asbestos-containing components such as gaskets or packing made by third parties, we are seeing more California verdicts where a defendant is found to have a small degree of fault, but ends up liable for a disproportionately large share of the plaintiff's damages.
