Team Effort Nets Complex Pharmaceutical Joint Venture

Morrison & Foerster and Wilson Sonsini represented the parties in a newly formed joint venture planning to use "DNA shuffling technology."

SANTA ANA - Forming a company to create large, complicated pharmaceutical molecules requires a large, complicated deal.

Morrison & Foerster assigned 17 of its lawyers worldwide to create a joint venture for client Astellas Pharma Inc. On the other side of the table, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati used roughly as many for client Maxygen Inc.
