Bringing a Face to Immigration Reform

Bernard Wolfsdorf, who won asylum from South Africa, is a new leader for immigration lawyers.

Shortly after Bernard Wolfsdorf arrived in Boston, the 24-year-old South African attorney walked into a nondescript office building and sought asylum.

"I was so nervous," Wolfsdorf said, recalling his first meeting with a U.S. immigration official. "The thought that this person could decide my case was not a worthy case and I'd have to return to South Africa to face certain persecution was terrifying....
