A California law intended to keep violent video games out of the hands of minors is unconstitutional, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Friday.

Affirming a 2005 decision by U.S. District Judge Ronald M. Whyte, the three-judge panel said the law violated the First Amendment right to free speech.
